Throwing Arrows reach Reach in Cambridgeshire
What's this all about? Witness young nephew Gwilym from the village of Reach displaying a fine thrower's posture as he learns the gentle art of throwing arrows from me. For those of you who have no idea what a throwing arrow is, it's a remarkable and surprising way of launching a stick for an unfeasible distance using the whiplash principle. Sharpen the end, two slots at right angles, insert card flights. Next, wrap a length of string with a bulky knot near the end around the base of the flights, tension, hold near tip, and throw. It can go for a remarkable distance if you get the technique right! Keep the Art alive, Gwilym!
